Whispering Pines Studio

Priscilla & Her Studio

Priscilla Bachman has spent most of her life living in northern Michigan and traveling to the far corners of the world searching for inspiration for her art.

Her style is a mixture of natural elements from the northern and southwestern parts of the world. Common themes are abstract, natural, whimsical, and thematic.

Priscilla's education includes a Master's of Art Education from the University of New Mexico and a Bachelor's of Arts in Education and Art from Hillsdale College. She was the first Master's student in the Art Education Department at the University of New Mexico to present a comprehensive art show of her ceramic art and sculpture in lieu of a written thesis.  In addition, she has done extensive postgraduate work in education.

She has also completed several master potter courses and workshops in New Mexico.  Priscilla has shown her art in numerous galleries in Northern Michigan, New Mexico, and Arizona. She was selected to show in many juried art shows throughout Michigan and in the southwest, and has also donated her art to several fundraising events, including the St. Francis Gladhander, Traverse Area Community Sailing in Traverse City, and D'Art for Art in Petoskey, Michigan.

Priscilla is an active volunteer for many organizations in the Grand Traverse and Leelanau regions, and a member of the Crooked Tree Arts Center of Petoskey and Traverse City.
